Scouting just the job for James

IRISH EYES: New scout James Hamilton

JAMES HAMILTON had to hang up his boots when work got in the way.

Now he can’t wait to get started again as a scout at Newmains United.

The Northern Irishman played youth football for Coagh United back home in County Tyrone.

But football had to be put to one side so he could pay the bills.

Now based in Scotland, Hamilton has linked up with the Victoria Park club as part of their newlook backroom setup.

Hamilton said: “I played most of my youth football at Coagh United in Northern Ireland but stopped when work commitments took over.

“I always wanted to get back into football in some capacity and I saw the scouting role at Newmains as a great opportunity.

“It can be difficult to get a career in football so I jumped at the chance to help out.”
