NEWMAINS UNITED have shown they can cut it by making history on the park.
Now they’re looking trim off it after landing the backing of Top Barber.
The Victoria Park side were razor sharp as they made it three wins on the bounce for the first time in three years against Ardeer last weekend.
They’ve added even more style thanks to the Manse Road-based gents Kurdish style hair specialists becoming the latest backer to come on board.
They have agreed to sponsor the club’s home shorts after owner Rasul Mirza was impressed with the club’s rapid progress this term.
Mirza said: “I was keeping a close eye on how Newmains had been doing and noticed they have been doing things differently in the way they work with their sponsors.
“I liked that, as well as the fact they have been winning games and doing things in the community which is great to see.
“I have just opened my new barber shop after we did some work to it so I thought it was a great idea to link up with the club.
“I’m proud to have my new logo on the shorts and to support a club which is progressing in the way it is.
“We like to do things a bit differently at my barber shop too so I think it’ll be a great partnership.”
Club captain Davie Ross was looking the part after getting a beard trim off Mirza, while goalie Gordon Bruce also had his barnet worked on by colleague Wsha.
Ross reckons the link-up is the latest boost for the club. He said: “It’s great to see businesses are now looking to get involved in the club. Football is a results-driven industry but you need backing to make things work too.
“We’ve had a good run of results recently and know we have to stay focused to try to keep things going.
“But when you see the likes of Top Barber supporting you it gives you even more incentive to do well.
“Without their backing the support of other companies it would be a lot harder so we’re really grateful to Rasul. He does a great beard trim too!”
