PAUL DAVIES insists his Newmains players can’t be happy with a 3-0 defeat.
United lost at Kingshill Park, although they shipped half as many goals as the previous clash at Annbank.
Co-boss Davies insists standards must improve.
He said: “I unfortunately missed the game against Annbank which was, by all accounts, a hard result to face.
“In training on Wednesday night we worked on various parts of our game to try and help players manage their way through games.
“After the first ten minutes against Forth I seriously doubted the players because we struggled.
“I have to give credit to them though because they settled back into the game and looked to match Forth in some horrendous weather conditions.
“We were without four or five players both on Saturday and Wednesday which we must take into account.
“But at the same time that is no excuse for a 3-0 defeat. We need to get bodies back fit and committed and a settled starting eleven.”
