Stats Man: Saint Anthony’s

THIS week newmainsunitedfc.com’s JOSH KANE takes a look at our in-form opponents from Glasgow…

“Newmains are back on the road this weekend as they travel to McKenna park to face Saint Anthony’s on Saturday November 3.

“The club has been in the media spotlight recently after managing to drum up SIX THOUSAND Twitter followers from far and wide in a short space of time.

“Italian giants AS Roma are now among their followers after their recent Non-League Day push but Newmains will be looking forza win this weekend.

“United will need to keep it tight at the back though with The Ants in the middle of a spell of fine scoring form. They have hammered in 15 goals as they’ve won their last four league games on the bounce.

“Home boss John Kelly will be aware of Newmains’ recent form and will be relying on players such as Grant Kelly and Scott Arthur to continue their strong goal to game ratio.

“Kelly has notched six goals in his last nine matches while Arthur has managed five in seven including a hat-trick in last Saturday‚Äôs 6-1 thrashing of Saltcoats Victoria.

“The Ants currently sit seventh in McBookie.com West Region League Two, three points ahead of Newmains who have a game in hand.

“Both sides come into this game in a good run of form and it could be a tight affair but goals look a certainty.

“Kick-off at McKenna Park is 2pm.”
