Stats Man: St Anthony’s

EACH week KEVIN CRAIGENS looks at who we’re facing next. Tomorrow (Wednesday) it’s St Anthony’s at home in our second-last game of the season…

ST ANTHONY’S will be looking to overcome a recent bout of travel sickness when they visit Victoria Park on Wednesday night.

The Govan side haven’t won away from home since March 2, when they beat Annbank 4-3.

Last time out The Ants lost 1-0 to Johnstone Burgh at Keanie Park. That saw them slip down to eighth spot as Newmains’ conquerors Thorniewood leapfrogged them into seventh.

While United still have a home fixture with Thorniewood to come on Saturday, this is St Anthony’s final game of the season.

They took five games to register their first win but it’s been a good campaign since then. As well as impressing on the pitch, they also increased their Twitter following to over 9,000 after Italian giants AS Roma announced they would support them on Non-league Day earlier this year.
