BOATS have been sailing on harsh tides the last two weeks but new Girvan boss Peter Leonard is hoping to steady the ship.

Storms Ciara and Dennis caused havoc for passengers on ferries with delays and cancellations from Largs to Ardrossan.

Both Newmains and Girvan have also had matches fall foul of the weather in that time with neither playing since February 1.

Girvan found themselves 12th in McBookie League One after six wins from 18 league fixtures.

After being relegated to the division and some poor results the Ayrshire side parted company with old boss Ian Patterson.

Leonard will have had four weeks with his side when kick off arrives on Saturday – but just one fixture in charge.

A double from Andy Reid and goals from Kieran Balfour and Craig Harvey saw Girvan run out 4-1 winners against Lesmahagow.

Today’s game has already been called off twice – and with Hamilton Park still under water the clash has been moved to Alloway.

Both sides will be hoping it’s third time lucky this afternoon.
