Newmains put Kev on write road

KEVIN CRAIGENS reckons Newmains United helped him land his chance in journalism.

Graduate Kevin recently took up a post as a casual reporter with Newsquest.

He had been a key contributor in the club’s media academy for the past two years.

As well as reporting on matches and writing feature interviews he also spent a season as The Stats Man, providing previews on upcoming opponents.

Kevin believes the experience he gained working with United was invaluable.

He said: “I am glad I have got myself in the door of a news company and I look forward to the challenge.

“I don’t think I would have got it without the experiences I have had through university, Newmains United and other opportunities.

“I’d like to thank Newmains for the opportunities they have provided me and wish them well for the new season when it starts.”
