Shock passing of chairman Ken

NEWMAINS UNITED are shocked and saddened at the sudden passing of our chairman Ken Davies this morning.

Ken, who was 69, had not only worked tirelessly to ensure the good running of things at Victoria Park.

He was hugely respected across Lanarkshire and beyond following his safety officer work at clubs like Motherwell FC and Gretna.

The proud Welshman - whose son Paul co-manages the team - was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

After helping out at Newmains following his retirement Ken (pictured with Paul) took over as chairman in April 2020.

Since then he had made the club his second home, transforming the clubhouse and pitch and ensuring the covid return went to plan.

It goes without saying he will be a massive loss and he leaves a huge void at the club.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
