NEWMAINS UNITED have been taken over by a new committee - with David Menelaws installed as the club’s permanent manager.

Joanne Meechan will become the club’s new CEO, with James Wynn installed as managing director and head of community.

Kenny Ward will be head of communications and matchday co-ordinator.

Chairman David Goodwin will remain with the club until the end of the season.

Menelaws had been appointed in caretaker charge until the summer after co-managers Paul Davies and Craig Gupwell quit.

But he will now assume the post beyond then, with Tommy Morgan his confirmed assistant.

The new regime take over with immediate effect.

Meechan said: “We would like to thank the previous committee of Newmains United for this opportunity.

“We can’t wait to get started and build on the foundations that have already been laid.

“We look forward to working alongside David Menelaws and Tommy Morgan.”
