NEWMAINS face one of the biggest games in their recent history when Edinburgh University come calling tomorrow.

But it’s United co-bosses Paul Davies and Craig Gupwell who have been studying hard this week.

The pair have been working overtime in a bid to get their side in shape for the second round of the Soccer Shop Challenge Cup.

Edinburgh University were admitted to the Lowland League for the 2014-15 season and finished in their highest ever position – sixth – the following year.

But a difficult 2019/20 campaign saw the club have the longest winless run and match the record for the fewest goals scored when the coronavirus crisis halted things early.

This season hasn’t gone as they’d have wished either and they currently sit second-bottom with one win from nine games.

Kick-off at Victoria Park is at the earlier time of 1.30pm.
