MANY tales and myths surround how the Yoker Athletic of the past earned the nickname the Whe Ho.

But their fans can all agree that the future of the club is very clear.

The club announced the launch of the Yoker Athletic Youth Academy in June this year and hope the structure will secure the next generation at Holm Park.

Newmains will face them for a second time this season in tomorrow’s Conference C league fixture.

They first met on the opening day of the season after a match was quickly arranged when original opponents Lanark had to postpone the original clash.

Newmains’ opponents left Victoria Park with the three points that day after a 4-2 victory.

There was disappointment for United last weekend as their Soccer Shop Challenge Cup match against Edinburgh University was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

United’s last match was more than a fortnight ago.
Yoker Athletic secured a 3-1 victory in their cup clash against Newton Stewart last weekend. The victory at Blairmount Park was their third of the season.

They currently sit fifth in the WOSFL league table with six points. A positive Covid-19 test ahead of their league fixture against Drumchapel United saw the interim management group award a 3-0 winning scoreline to their opponents as the Whe Ho forfeited the match.

Kick-off at Holm Park is 1.45pm
