NEWMAINS travel to familiar territory for the second league game against Royal Albert.

The fixture is officially an away match for United – but ongoing work at Albert’s home ground means tonight’s clash will be held at Victoria Park.

Due to the pandemic it would have been our opponents’ first match at Tileworks in 18 months.

Their homecoming fixture is now set to be the clash with Gartcairn scheduled for next Wednesday.

Gartcairn are one of the favourites to win the league and showed their quality against United on the opening day.

But Royal Albert themselves have also played another of the league tips in Renfrew.

An injury-hit Albert side were hit for six without reply as their opponents took their place at the top of the table after the first round of games.

After being without seven crocks for that game the situation got worse when Davie Hamilton and Rico Janetta were forced off with knee and shoulder problems respectively.

Both sides will be desperate to put their opening day wrongs right and get themselves a first three points on the road.

Kick-off tonight is at 7.30pm – with tickets costing £5 for adults, £2.50 for OAPs and kids get in for FREE.
