Follow @thelionpodcastI finished my Broadcast Journalism masters in the summer and I’m now working for the BBC on a freelance basis. I knew nothing about football and I had never done any sports journalism but I was really interested to learn more of both.
When I saw the opportunity to join the academy I was really excited because it sounded like a really supportive community to be a part of – and so far I’ve loved it!
Everyone has been very welcoming and it’s been great pushing my boundaries, writing about something completely out of my comfort zone.
I don’t have a specific career goal in mind but I’m hoping that developing an interest in sport will help widen my journalism career prospects as a lot of jobs want some sports knowledge.
