I am a sports journalism graduate from UWS Ayr Campus with aspirations of becoming a full-time sports reporter.

I had previous media experience working with different organisations such as the Homeless World Cup and St Mirren FC. They are opportunities I will forever cherish but I felt I needed to keep myself fresh and on the ball.

I therefore took up the opportunity of working within the Newmains New Media Academy to beef up my CV and expand my portfolio. It gives me a chance to keep learning the trade and to sharpen my skills thanks to the guidance and feedback that I am able to receive.

Having the potential for my work to be published was an additional major factor for me. I have since had articles in the Wishaw Press with my byline, which has provided me with great motivation to strive for more success.
