Stats Life: Vale of Leven (h)

VALE OF LEVEN visit Victoria Park in the Scottish Junior Cup for the first time since clubs decamped to the West of Scotland League.

The Vale’s last trip was in the West Region League Two back in March 2020 – and they left with all three points that day.

They had headed into that clash as league leaders but United started brightly and saw an early goal chalked off.

The Vale took the lead from the spot – and after United missed a penalty of their own - ran out 3-0 winners.

While United saw off Conference B rivals Dalry in the first round to reach this stage, The Vale made it through without kicking a ball after opponents Bathgate Thistle withdrew.

But the Millburn Park side have had a rough run of results in the league in recent weeks.

They sit 13th in Conference C, three points ahead of Lanark United having played one more game.

In their last five fixtures the Vale have won only once - a 2-0 victory over a youthful Larkhall Thistle.

But they have also suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat to ninth placed St Roch’s.

Kick-off is 2.30pm. Adults £5, OAPs £2.50 and kids go FREE.
